📰 In news: The Supreme Court on 15 October held that children too have a fundamental right to access the internet.
In its ruling of October 2026, the Supreme Court traced the right to access and use the internet to which provisions of the Constitution?
Answer: (c) Article 21 read with Article 19(1)(a). In Just Rights for Children Alliance v S. Harish (Pardiwala and Chandran JJ), the Court held internet access a fundamental right available to children irrespective of age, and rejected blanket age-based bans. Earlier, Anuradha Bhasin (2020) had protected speech and trade through the internet under Article 19.
