Rajasthan Sarpanch List 2026: Where to See New Sarpanchs and the Zila Parishad Result

Two of the four sarpanch phases are declared, phase 3 votes on 5 November and phase 4 on 16 November. Here is where the official list of new sarpanchs and ward panchs is, and why the Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad result comes only on 20 November.

Step by stepWhere to See the List of New Sarpanchs: 5 Official Places
- 1
🏫 1. The Returning Officer at your panchayat
The first official 'list' is the declaration made at the gram panchayat headquarters on counting night. The Returning Officer announces the votes of every sarpanch and ward panch candidate and signs the result sheet. Ask any candidate's counting agent for the figures; they get them on the spot.
- 2
🌐 2. sec.rajasthan.gov.in (State Election Commission)
Open the Panchayati Raj election results section and choose district → Panchayat Samiti → Gram Panchayat. You see the elected sarpanch and the ward panch of every ward. Uploads can take a day or two after counting, so do not worry if your panchayat is not there on the same night.
- 3
🏢 3. Panchayat Samiti office and district election branch
The Panchayat Samiti (block) office and the election branch at the Collectorate keep the Panchayat Samiti-wise list of new sarpanchs. You can see it there, and the list is a public record that can be asked for under RTI if needed.
- 4
📰 4. District pages of Hindi newspapers
The morning after each phase, district editions print block-wise lists of new sarpanchs. These are quick and useful, but they are typed in a hurry. If a name or a margin differs, the Returning Officer's sheet and the SEC list are the record.
- 5
📜 5. The winner's certificate of election
Every winner gets a certificate of election from the Returning Officer. If someone claims to be the new sarpanch, this certificate is the proof.
20 NovemberZila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Result 2026: Date and How
| PS / ZP phase | Polling day | Turnout (as reported) |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | 22 Oct 2026 | about 63% (PTI) |
| Phase 2 | 28 Oct 2026, 22 districts | 64.32% by 6 pm |
| Phase 3 | 3 Nov 2026, 27 districts, 116 Panchayat Samitis | 68.39% by 6 pm; Naharpura (Banswara) 82.71% highest, Dausa 49.90% lowest |
| Phase 4 | 14 Nov 2026 | still to come |
| Counting | 20 Nov 2026, all phases together at district headquarters | ward-wise result on the SEC website |
Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad members are elected on party symbols, unlike sarpanchs. Their ballot boxes are sealed after each phase and kept in strong rooms, and all four phases are counted together on 20 November. That is why searching 'zila parishad result 2026' before 20 November shows nothing official. After the count, the members elect the Zila Pramukh (25 November) and the Pradhan (27 November), as reported; the party or group with a majority of members usually gets these posts.
🏠 Everyday analogy
Like a cricket series where every match is played on a different day but the trophy is handed over only after the last match.
🇮🇳 Real Indian example
A voter in Dausa voted for her Zila Parishad member on 3 November. She will know the winner only on 20 November, but her village's new sarpanch was known on the night of the sarpanch poll itself.
After the resultAfter the Sarpanch List: Upsarpanch, Charge and Challenge
| Step | When | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Upsarpanch | Day after the sarpanch poll | The newly elected ward panchs (and the sarpanch) elect the upsarpanch at the panchayat. See Upsarpanch election. |
| Charge | After the result | The new sarpanch takes charge of the panchayat's records from the administrator or the old body, and the five-year term begins. |
| Challenge | Within 30 days of the result | A losing candidate or voter can file an election petition before the District Judge. See Sarpanch election petition. |
| Pradhan / Zila Pramukh | 25 and 27 Nov (reported) | Elected by Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad members after the 20 November count. See Pradhan and Zila Pramukh election. |
The lawWho Makes the Official List: Article 243K
243K. Elections to the Panchayats.— (1) The superintendence, direction and control of the preparation of electoral rolls for, and the conduct of, all elections to the Panchayats shall be vested in a State Election Commission consisting of a State Election Commissioner to be appointed by the Governor.
(2) Subject to the provisions of any law made by the Legislature of a State, the conditions of service and tenure of office of the State Election Commissioner shall be such as the Governor may by rule determine: Provided that the State Election Commissioner shall not be removed from his office except in like manner and on the like grounds as a Judge of a High Court and the conditions of service of the State Election Commissioner shall not be varied to his disadvantage after his appointment.
(3) The Governor of a State shall, when so requested by the State Election Commission, make available to the State Election Commission such staff as may be necessary for the discharge of the functions conferred on the State Election Commission by clause (1).
(4) Subject to the provisions of this Constitution, the Legislature of a State may, by law, make provision with respect to all matters relating to, or in connection with, elections to the Panchayats.
Article 243K puts panchayat elections under the State Election Commission, including the preparation of electoral rolls and the conduct of polls. So the official list of new sarpanchs, panchs, Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad members is the SEC's list, prepared from its Returning Officers' declarations. Not the Election Commission of India, not a political party, not a news channel.
🏠 Everyday analogy
Like a board exam: coaching centres announce toppers, but only the board's marksheet counts.
🇮🇳 Real Indian example
In a Churu panchayat, two groups both post 'our candidate won' at 8 pm. The RO's signed result sheet at 9:30 pm shows a 41-vote margin. That sheet, later uploaded by the SEC, is what the Panchayat Samiti office records.

Article 40: Village panchayats
The State must organise village panchayats as units of self-government; knowing who your elected head is comes first.
Article 19(1)(a): Right to know
